Flutter Entertainment has appointed long-serving executive Francesco Borsetti as the new Managing Director of Snai Italia, one of its key Italian-facing brands.
The appointment places a seasoned, home-grown leader at the helm of the high-value asset, signaling Flutter’s commitment to strong leadership in the crucial Italian market.
Borsetti’s career represents a remarkable journey within the Flutter group, which began in 2013 when he joined Paddy Power’s Italian division as an intern.
His rise through the ranks has been swift and impressive, holding progressively senior roles including Lead Commercial Analyst, and later, Brand Marketing and Customer Acquisition Director for TVG and Betfair USA.
He was subsequently promoted to Gaming Director at Betfair in 2018, before becoming Sportsbook Director and then Managing Director of Paddy Power Online in December 2023.
This leadership change follows Flutter’s finalized acquisition of Snaitech from Playtech in April 2025. The deal, ultimately valued at €2.3 billion ($2.56 billion), more than doubled the price Playtech paid for the company in 2018.
Snai now stands alongside the lottery brand Sisal, which Flutter acquired in 2021, as a cornerstone of Flutter’s dominant Italian market portfolio.
Borsetti shared his enthusiasm for the new role on LinkedIn, writing:
