The Las Vegas Strip at night, which contributed $652.1 million to Nevada's August 2025 gaming revenue, largely driven by a significant surge in baccarat play.

Nevada’s gaming industry demonstrated solid growth in August 2025, with total gaming revenue reaching $1.23 billion, a 5.5% increase compared to the same month in the previous year.

According to the latest report from the Nevada Gaming Control Board (NGCB), the positive gaming revenue in Nevada was primarily fueled by a significant surge in baccarat play and a near-doubling of revenue from mobile sports wagering.

The state’s table and card games collectively generated $411.8 million, marking a 12.6% year-on-year rise. Baccarat was a standout performer, with revenue soaring by 52.6% to reach $116.5 million, indicating a strong return of high-roller activity, particularly on the Las Vegas Strip.

The sports betting segment also posted impressive gains, with total revenue growing by 68.1% to $42 million. This was largely driven by the mobile betting sector, which saw its revenue jump by a remarkable 96.8% to $29.4 million.

The return of college football and NFL pre-season games provided a seasonal boost, with football betting revenue climbing 85.9% to $16.3 million.

Clark County, the state’s primary gaming hub, reported revenue of $1.03 billion, up 5.3%. The Las Vegas Strip contributed $652.1 million to this total, a modest 2% increase.

The Strip’s growth was heavily reliant on its baccarat performance, which saw revenue nearly double to $115.6 million, helping to offset weakness in certain slot machine categories.

While multi-denomination slots performed well, revenue from penny slots saw a significant decline of 31.2%.

Performance across other regions was mixed. Downtown Las Vegas and North Las Vegas saw healthy revenue increases of 8.3% and 7.8% respectively. In contrast, Laughlin and the Boulder Strip both experienced declines.

In Northern Nevada, Washoe County, which includes Reno, reported a 7.4% increase, while South Lake Tahoe recorded a strong rebound with a 21.5% revenue jump.
