Global sports betting and gaming group Entain plc has released its trading update for the third quarter covering July 1 to September 30, 2026.
Analyzing Q3 trading performance and regional results
The group reported a 2% increase in total Net Gaming Revenue (NGR) on a constant currency basis from continuing operations, demonstrating the resilience of its globally diversified portfolio despite customer-friendly sports results and headwinds in Brazil.
Entain’s online NGR increased by 3 overall, benefiting from strong gaming growth of 8 that was partially offset by customer friendly football results in August and September. Excluding Brazil, online NGR grew by 5 with strong volumes up 7. Retail NGR decreased by 2, reflecting positive underlying volumes despite adverse sports outcomes.
Regionally, the UK and Ireland delivered exceptional results, with total NGR up 8 and online NGR jumping 14 driven by a 15 surge in volume. International markets experienced a 4 decline in NGR due to headwinds in Brazil, where proactive marketing restraint preceded an immediate online gambling ban announced on September 25, 2026. Conversely, New Zealand, Spain, and Canada achieved double-digit online NGR growth. Discontinued operations in Entain CEE remained flat year-on-year, supported by double-digit online growth in Poland.
Executive commentary
Stella David, CEO of Entain, stated:
“I am pleased with our Q3 performance which reflects the strength of our execution and reinforces the resilience of our globally scaled business as well as its ability to consistently deliver high-quality growth.”
David added:
“Both online and retail are important parts of our business and valued contributors to tax revenues and local communities. We strongly urge the UK Government to carefully consider any further gambling tax increases which would threaten the viability of many shops, jobs and livelihoods.”
Concluding on the outlook, David noted:
“The underlying momentum we are seeing across our diverse portfolio supports our confidence in reiterating FY26 guidance. I am confident our disciplined focus on growth and optimisation will deliver strong future cash-generation, and that Entain remains well positioned to be a long-term industry winner.”
