Hellenic Lotteries S.A.

Leading lottery and gaming technology supplier Bally’s Intralot S.A. has finalized a definitive long-term agreement with Hellenic Lotteries S.A., a subsidiary of Allwyn Hellas (formerly operating as OPAP).

The deal establishes a modern operational foundation for Greece’s national wagering landscape, ensuring stable technology infrastructure delivery across deep vertical markets.

Turnkey Modernization via the LotosX Omni Ecosystem

The high-stakes contract was finalized following a rigorous international tender process, which resulted in Hellenic Lotteries being awarded the exclusive right to operate, distribute, and manage Greece’s official state lotteries. The 12-year concession encompasses all passive lotteries and popular instant-win scratch games nationwide, with the legal operational window taking effect as of May 2, 2026. Notably, Hellenic Lotteries successfully held the previous state monopoly license for a matching 12-year cycle.

Under the newly signed terms, Bally’s Intralot is tasked with executing a comprehensive system migration to transition Hellenic Lotteries away from its legacy infrastructure and onto a highly advanced tech stack. Specifically, the vendor will deploy a comprehensive, turnkey lotteries and instant games management solution built completely upon its flagship LotosX Omni software ecosystem.

The omni-channel architecture is engineered to empower the operator to scale its game delivery seamlessly across its massive brick-and-mortar retail network, while simultaneously unlocking interactive digital integration channels to capture mobile-first player demographics. The initial commercial framework features a one-year base period, offering flexible options to either extend the contract annually for up to 3 years or maintain the system integration for the full 12-year duration of the concession.

A New Era for Hellenic Lotteries

Jan Karas, Chairman and CEO of Allwyn Hellas, emphasized that ensuring backend system continuity and product evolution are primary operational imperatives for the group:

“We are pleased to be cooperating with Bally’s Intralot, in the new era of Hellenic Lotteries. Ensuring business continuity, revamping and evolving our products, and upgrading customer experience are key pillars of our plans for the new 12-year concession. We look forward to continuing to work with Bally’s Intralot on technology solutions that will help us meet customer expectations, offer innovative propositions and drive business, while improving our efficiency, productivity, and responsible operations.”

Robeson Reeves, CEO of the Bally’s Intralot Group, celebrated the contract extension as a strong testament to the technical capability of their engineering teams:

“Allwyn Hellas and Hellenic Lotteries are valued long-standing partners and we are honored to renew and strengthen our collaboration. This agreement reflects the trust placed in our technology, our people, and our long‑term commitment to supporting regulated lottery operators. Working closely with Hellenic Lotteries, we aim to deliver a modern, secure, and scalable gaming ecosystem that enables sustainable growth and innovation.”
