The reputable Malta Gaming Authority (MGA) has revealed that it has banned the gaming license of Goldwin Casino, a decision that has been in effect since March the 13th, 2025.
Moreover, the decision of Malta’s official gambling regulator instantly revokes Goldwin’s license bearing reference number MGA/B2C/533/2018, which is in accordance with a list of regulations available under the Gaming Compliance and Enforcement Regulations.
The MGA enforced this decision after an extensive regulatory investigation, with Goldwin being ordered to display the information on its official website and notify all of its players of the cancellation through email.
Additionally, Goldwin is also instructed to direct all players who want to withdraw funds from their balance to the official ticketing system of the Malta Gaming Authority for assistance.
Starting from the 13th of March, the effective date, the MGA imposed a deadline of five working days for the operator to settle all outstanding fees owed to the Malta Gaming Authority and remove all references to the MGA gaming authorization from its documents as required by Article 51 of the Gaming Act.
This development comes right after the Malta Gaming Authority updated its regulatory monitoring approach in February 2025.
The new framework presented by the MGA puts special emphasis on three crucial segments, including proactive risk management, risk-based resource allocation, and enhanced collaboration.
Consequently, the newly updated regulatory strategy seeks to rely on an outcomes-focused model to address potential risk areas in the gaming market and also implement an improved, more evidence-driven approach to regulating its operations.
Under Article 43 (1) of the Gaming Act, Goldwin can appeal the decision by the Malta Gaming Authority.
