After the blessing of the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board, the World Series of Poker (WSOP) finally starts. This news comes after a certain trial period, which is a standard procedure pretty much in every state. More specifically, this will enable Pennsylvania’s poker enthusiasts to play on the WSOP.com platform for the first time, legally. Consequently, this venture starts Pennsylvania as the third US state after New Jersey and Nevada to offer the WSOP.com gaming platform.

The World Series of Poker intends to promote the event in several ways. Particularly they will offer unique sign-up promotions, special bracelets for the event as well as numerous weekly tournaments for all Pennsylvania citizens. Moreover, WSOP will offer daily satellite buy-ins, for practically nothing. For example, the lowest buy-in price will be just 1. This is quite affordable and convenient. In addition that it gives every Pennsylvania player a shot to travel to the main event this fall, in Las Vegas.

Naturally, with the reputation of the very successful operator that WSOP is, company officials are quite satisfied and grateful for the new deal. For that matter, the Senior Vice President of WSOP, Ty Stewart, said the following:

We are thrilled to be opening up WSOP.com to the state of Pennsylvania. The real winners in this expansion are the players who join us at WSOP.com. With our industry-best sign-up promotions and the special bracelet series catered specifically to players in Pennsylvania, we welcome all players. From the casuals to the professionals and everyone in between.

Ty Stewart – Senior Vice President of WSOP

This venture comes after a quite successful 2020. Especially since the WSOP broke several online poker records, concerning events and festivals. In particular, it netted more than $26m in prize pools, from 31 events. Meaning that WSOP had an average of around $865.000 per tournament, consequently contributing to the biggest US poker series ever. After the market regulation, that is.

So, needless to further state the obvious, it is quite clear that this type of event will once again attract a massive audience not just from the US, but from all over the world. Especially if we take into account that the game of poker is the number one card game in the world for both avid fans and newbies alike.
