
Applications Accepted Until November 3, 2026, Under Consolidated Gambling Act
The Danish Gambling Authority has officially opened the application process for establishing and operating land-based casinos. Pursuant to Consolidated Act No. 1182 of September 22, 2025, permits can be granted for up to 10 years at a time. Interested parties must submit their application materials so that they reach the authority no later than November 3, 2026, as late submissions will not be considered.
Evaluation Criteria and Submission Guidelines
When assessing applications, the Danish Gambling Authority focuses on ensuring that applicants intend to operate the casino in a fully professional and financially sound manner. Key evaluation criteria include:
- Professional and Financial Soundness: Experience in offering games, qualification to operate, and necessary liquidity to handle significant operating expenses.
- Management & Corporate Requirements: Strict standards applied to individuals, the company itself, and members of management and the board of directors.
- Project Details: Geographical considerations, customer base, detailed casino project design, regulatory conditions, size, and location.
Applications can be submitted digitally as encrypted mail via Bluewhale or through the contact form on the Danish Gambling Authority website (www.spillemyndigheden.dk). Alternatively, physical submissions can be mailed to the Danish Gambling Authority at Lerchesgade 35, 6., 5000 Odense C, marked “Application – Land-based casino”.
