Sportradar has announced a significant bolstering of its corporate governance structure with the appointment of Breon Corcoran to its Board of Directors.
Corcoran, a veteran executive with extensive experience in the gambling and financial technology sectors, brings a wealth of leadership expertise to the global sports technology company.
Currently serving as the CEO of the London-listed online trading platform IG Group, Corcoran is best known in the iGaming industry for his pivotal roles at some of the world’s largest operators.
He served as the Chief Executive Officer of Paddy Power Betfair (now Flutter Entertainment) from February 2016 to January 2018. Prior to that merger, he led Betfair as CEO from August 2012 to February 2016, overseeing a period of significant growth and technological advancement.
The appointment comes at a strategic juncture for Sportradar as it continues to innovate within the sports data landscape and expand its global footprint.
Company leadership believes Corcoran’s deep understanding of sports technology, combined with his background in betting and fintech, will be invaluable in guiding strategic priorities and maximizing value creation for stakeholders.
Following the announcement, shares in Sportradar Group AG closed slightly lower in New York trading.
However, the addition of such a high-profile industry figure is widely viewed as a long-term strategic asset for the company as it navigates the evolving data rights and sports betting markets.
