The highly respected public relations veteran, Barry Orr, has announced via LinkedIn that he has started a new PR-related role with the sports betting data supplier, TxOdds.
This move sees one of the industry’s most experienced communications professionals lend his skills to an innovative data company looking to expand its global brand recognition.
Orr brings a wealth of experience from his more than 20-year tenure at the betting giant Betfair. He is best known for his most recent role as the company’s Head of Horseracing Public Relations, a position he held for nearly eight years.
In this capacity, he was responsible for overseeing all PR strategy for the crucial horseracing vertical, as well as managing high-profile ambassador and media partnerships and leading major promotional campaigns for the UK and Ireland.
His appointment is a significant hire for TxOdds, a company with a 25-year history in the betting business, known for producing accurate pricing models and low-latency data for the sports betting industry.
Orr’s new role will focus on leveraging his extensive network and strategic expertise to further elevate the TxOdds brand on the global stage.
In his own announcement, Orr expressed immense excitement about the new challenge, praising TxOdds as “inquisitive trailblazers” with an “insatiable appetite for innovation.”
He described the company’s current work as what he believes to be the most exciting and innovative development in the sports data and betting space since the inception of the betting exchange in 2000, signalling that major developments are on the horizon.
