Crown Perth has confirmed that construction has officially begun on a multi-million dollar expansion of its dining and entertainment precinct, marking the most significant investment in the property in over a decade.
This major development initiative is a key part of a nationwide strategy by Crown Resorts to modernize its properties and enhance non-gaming amenities.
The project was given the green light only after the Western Australian Government found Crown Perth suitable to retain its casino license, following several years of intense regulatory investigations and significant improvements to its business operations.
The centerpiece of the ambitious upgrade will be the “Urban Food District,” a vibrant new area designed to offer a wide variety of international food options, a large outdoor beer garden, and a hidden speakeasy-style bar.
To attract a broader audience, Crown Perth plans to keep the new district open late on weekends and feature local DJs.
In addition to the food district, development has also started on a new luxury wine bar within the Crown Towers hotel, which will feature a curated selection of globally celebrated wines.
Brian Pereira, CEO of Crown Perth, stated that the project will provide locals and visitors with more options than ever for dining and entertainment. “Crown has been attracting new experiences, renowned restaurants and entertainment to the heart of Perth for 40 years – and we’re delighted to be expanding and reimagining this vibrant dining precinct,” he said.
The development is expected to have a positive economic impact, creating at least 150 local jobs during its construction phase, with additional hospitality roles becoming available once the new venues open to the public. This investment signals a new chapter for the resort, focusing on diversifying its appeal beyond the casino floor.
