PrizePicks has made history by becoming the first fantasy company in the gaming industry to receive certification from the Internet Compliance Assessment Program (iCAP) issued by the National Council on Problem Gambling (NCPG).
This milestone highlights the company’s dedication to responsible gaming, player protection, and ethical business practices, as the iCAP accreditation is awarded to operators who meet strict criteria in responsible gaming policies, staff training, consumer safeguards, and regulatory compliance.
More specifically, it is an independent evaluation that ensures certified companies align with Internet Responsible Gaming (IRG) standards, consequently incorporating the best practices from the top jurisdictions worldwide.
Receiving this certification means that PrizePicks has met or exceeded key industry standards for protecting users and maintaining a fair and responsible gambling environment.
Additionally, PrizePicks has shown commitment to responsible gaming by implementing policies and programs that promote safer gambling practices that put special emphasis on the well-being of the players.
To further strengthen these efforts, the company is already a partner with responsible gambling advocates such as Kindbridge Behavioral Health, Socure, Epic Global Solutions, Xpoint, and IC360.
These partnerships help by dealing with fraud prevention, identity verification, and problem gambling support while ensuring a safer gaming environment for all players.
The iCAP certification comes at a crucial moment for PrizePicks after the company went through a major leadership change in February 2025, when the company appointed Mike Quigley as Chief Marketing Officer.
Jaime Costello, Director of Programs at the National Council of Problem Gambling, said:
We are proud to recognise PrizePicks as the first daily fantasy sports operator to receive iCAP accreditation. This achievement highlights their unwavering commitment to player protection and promoting positive play, setting a new benchmark for excellence in the industry.”
Similarly, Mike Ybarra, Chief Executive Officer of PrizePicks, commented:
This certification is a powerful recognition of the culture we’ve built at PrizePicks, and an incredible honour that underscores our unwavering commitment to putting player safety first. I want to extend my sincere thanks to the NCPG for their thorough evaluation and to our exceptional team for setting the bar as an industry leader in responsible gaming.
