South Korea’s premiere integrated resort, Paradise City, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Lotte Duty Free to create a unified travel and retail ecosystem.
The partnership is a strategic response to shifting regional travel dynamics, specifically targeting the high-value Chinese tourism market through a blend of luxury accommodation, casino entertainment, and high-end retail.
Integrated Membership and Luxury Synergy
Located adjacent to Incheon International Airport, Paradise City, the flagship foreigner-exclusive casino resort of Paradise Co., will now share consumer data and marketing channels with Lotte Duty Free. The collaboration involves linking membership programs to offer selective bonuses, exclusive shopping packages, and high-roller perks.
The agreement coincides with Lotte Duty Free resuming full-scale operations at Incheon Airport after a three-year hiatus. Simultaneously, Paradise City has expanded its capacity with the reopening of the Hyatt Regency Incheon, positioning both companies to handle a significant surge in visitor volume as South Korea becomes a primary alternative for Chinese travelers looking beyond Japan.
Data-Driven Growth and Market Resilience
The financial foundations for this deal are strong. In Q1 2026, Paradise Co. reported casino sales of KRW 229.67 billion ($152.3 million), a 1.8% annual increase. While table games grew moderately, slot machine performance surged by 14.9%, signaling robust demand for automated gaming.
By combining Lotte Duty Free’s 2.5 million foreign members with Paradise City’s world-class resort infrastructure, the two firms aim to dominate the regional tourism sector. As South Korea positions itself as a stable hub for Northeast Asian travel, this partnership provides a clear, data-led pathway for both companies to scale their international reach throughout 2026.
