SuomiVeto has marked a major milestone by securing an official gambling licence for the upcoming competitive Finnish market.
Granted by the National Police Board on October 22, 2026, licence number RALU/2027/L111 authorizes the operator to offer a comprehensive suite of gaming products, including fixed-odds betting, variable-odds betting, virtual betting, casino games, bingo, and slot games, across a validity period running from July 1, 2027, to June 30, 2032.
Melvin Bostelaar, CEO and Co-founder of SuomiVeto, shared his enthusiasm for the achievement:
“I am proud of the team and everyone who has helped us reach this milestone. This licence is the beginning of an exciting new chapter. From our home in Helsinki, we are putting everything in place to bring Finland something special from day one.”
Strategic partnerships and market positioning
Echoing this sentiment, Co-founder Joey Singels emphasized the long-term vision behind the brand:
“Finland is a market we’ve believed in from the very beginning. We didn’t start SuomiVeto just to enter the market, but to become one of its leading gaming brands. It’s exciting to be working again with trusted partners like Bragg and Kambi, with whom we’ve already successfully built BetCity.nl in the past (sold to Entain). With the licence secured, an experienced team and strong partners behind us, we have everything in place to make a real impact from day one. And this is just the beginning.”
Leadership also expressed gratitude to Legal Gaming Attorneys at Law for their expert guidance throughout the regulatory approval process, alongside acknowledging the dedicated internal team working behind the scenes.
Preparation for a major 2027 rollout
With regulatory clearance secured, preparations for the official launch are proceeding rapidly. SuomiVeto is establishing its core operations from its headquarters in Helsinki, aiming for a high-impact debut on July 1, 2027. The platform is set to feature a robust online casino and sportsbook offering, complete with specialized horse betting markets. To maximize brand visibility from the outset, the company plans to collaborate with prominent Finnish sports personalities who will serve as brand ambassadors across the country.
