The Victorian Gambling and Casino Control Commission (VGCCC) has appointed Suzy Neilan as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO),

Neilan has more than two decades in senior executive roles in both the public and private sectors, where she has gained extensive expertise in regulation, customer service, and overseeing major technological and legislative changes in highly regulated markets.

More specifically, Neilan most recently served as the Executive Director of Strategy at the Environment Protection Authority Victoria (EPA), where she played a key role in shaping strategic initiatives and driving organisational change.

During her tenure at EPA, Neilan also served multiple terms as acting CEO, where she oversaw the organization of the entity through challenging transitions.

Before her work at the EPA, Neilan held leadership roles in several major Victorian public sector organisations, including Executive Director at the Victorian Building Authority, roles where she managed key regulatory and compliance functions by working closely with government agencies to improve regulatory outcomes.

Additionally, Neilan also held the position of General Manager at Tenix Solutions, where she worked with private contractors and public entities to boost operational efficiency in compliance and enforcement.

Neilan’s appointment comes at a crucial time for the VGCCC as the regulator continues to strengthen its regulatory oversight of Victoria’s gambling and casino industries, which is why her leadership is expected to drive further improvements in governance, compliance, and public trust.

With an impressive background in strategic leadership positions and regulatory reforms, Neilan is the perfect candidate to lead the VGCCC into a more modern and effective regulatory framework, ensuring the industry operates with integrity and accountability.

Suzy Neilan, the new CEO of VGCCC, commented:

I am excited by the opportunity to contribute to the VGCCC’s success and look forward to working with the dedicated and talented people at the VGCCC to make a positive difference for Victorian communities.
