Pioneering Governance Recognition for Esportes Gaming Brasil
Esportes Gaming Brasil (EGB), the parent group behind the Esportes da Sorte, Onabet, and Lottu brands, has officially become the first iGaming company to receive recognition in the IIA May Brazil campaign, organized by the Institute of Internal Auditors of Brazil (IIA Brazil). During a ceremony held on July 23, 2026, the company was awarded the IIA May Brazil 2026 Winning Company seal, alongside a formal trophy and certificate.
This prestigious recognition celebrates initiatives carried out throughout May, International Internal Audit Awareness Month, designed to elevate awareness of internal audit functions, dispel common misconceptions, and underscore its contribution to governance, risk management, internal controls, and strategic decision-making. In 2026, EGB joined approximately 100 leading Brazilian organizations, including Petrobras, Banco Bradesco, Grupo Mateus, Vale, and entities within the Caixa ecosystem.
Campaign Excellence, Educational Content, and Executive Insights
To qualify for the campaign, participating organizations met strict criteria, including publishing at least four pieces of original content on official social media channels and executing two or more internal or external initiatives, such as webinars, presentations, or training sessions.
EGB’s campaign featured educational videos explaining internal audit roles, myth-busting series, content detailing the creation of their new Internal Audit function, the open-discussion Audit EGB Webinar, and an in-person training program for professionals in the second and third lines of defense (Internal Audit, Quality, Compliance, and Monitoring).
Carol Luna, Head of Compliance at Esportes Gaming Brasil, commented:
“Being the first iGaming company recognised in the IIA May Brazil campaign is a significant milestone for both our group and the wider industry. Regulation has ushered in a new era of professionalism, where growth, innovation and efficiency must go hand in hand with strong governance, integrity and the ability to anticipate risk.”
Luna added:
“Our goal was to bring Internal Audit closer to our people and demonstrate that the function is not isolated or focused solely on identifying non-compliance. It is a strategic partner that transforms information into meaningful insights, drives continuous improvement and helps the business build more efficient processes and stronger controls.” The award presentation followed the 2026 Chief Audit Executives (CAE) Meeting, which convened internal audit leaders across Brazil to examine industry trends and challenges.
