BoscaSports has acquired UK software specialist 2DB to create a global leader in live betting display technology.

In a “transformational” acquisition for the Irish tech sector, BoscaSports has officially announced the purchase of UK-based software specialist 2DB.

This transaction unites two leaders in data-driven digital displays and video streaming, positioning the combined group as the premier provider of live betting information for racecourses and retail environments worldwide.

Financing a Technological Success Story

The acquisition was financed through a loan facility from Allied Irish Bank (AIB) and received additional support from Racecourse Media Group (RMG), which increased its existing investment in BoscaSports to facilitate the deal. This move is expected to double the BoscaSports workforce, accelerating product development and broadening its international reach across on-course and online platforms.

Eugene Mitchell, CEO of BoscaSports, highlighted the strategic fit:

“This acquisition is transformational for BoscaSports. Combining our capabilities with 2DB’s integrated video streaming and data solutions significantly enhances our technology stack… We are proud to be an Irish tech success story”.

Global Reach into 12 Countries

Prior to the deal, BoscaSports already supplied retail displays to all 86 racecourses in the UK and Ireland. With the addition of 2DB, the group’s presence will expand into 12 countries, including Italy, Malta, Cyprus, and the UAE. The enlarged client portfolio now includes industry titans such as Flutter’s Paddy Power, Entain, and William Hill.

Steve Boffo, Managing Director of 2DB Ltd, commented on the cultural alignment:

“We’re delighted to announce that 2DB has been acquired by BoscaSports. This is a perfect cultural and strategic match, and we’re ready to hit the ground running”.

With a reported revenue growth of 40% over the last year, BoscaSports continues to demonstrate the scalability and profitability of its Irish-born technology in the global racing ecosystem.
