Social Media Platform Partners with Coinbase, Kraken, Gemini, Interactive Brokers, and Moomoo to Enable Direct Order Routing
X has officially unveiled its U.S. Cashtag Partner Program, integrating major financial and cryptocurrency platforms, including Coinbase, Gemini, Kraken, Interactive Brokers, and Moomoo, directly into its interface. The feature allows users to view live asset pricing and related discussions via ticker symbols like $BTC or$TSLA, select a “Trade” option, and seamlessly transition to an approved brokerage or exchange to complete transactions.
Building on the foundation of Smart Cashtags introduced earlier in the year, the new partner integration aims to streamline the user journey from financial discourse to market execution. While X provides real-time charts and market posts, order execution, account authentication, and regulatory compliance remain strictly managed by the respective financial partners on their own mobile apps and web platforms.
Partner Integration Details and Rollout Scope
Each participating provider brings distinct coverage and promotional offers to the initial U.S. launch:
- Kraken: Integrates support spanning nearly 2,500 assets across its centralized and decentralized exchange offerings, subject to geographic eligibility.
- Interactive Brokers: Enables U.S. investors to transition directly from X to research and execute orders, offering a $100 promotional credit for new eligible clients opening and funding qualifying accounts.
- Moomoo: Acts as an official U.S.-regulated brokerage partner, routing users to dedicated pages equipped with robust research tools and market data.
- Coinbase and Gemini: Round out the initial launch lineup as primary crypto exchange partners, though asset availability varies by platform.
Platform executives note that the feature remains entirely separate from X Money, the social network’s broader peer-to-peer payments and digital wallet initiative. Users cannot fund brokerage accounts directly through an internal X Money balance; instead, transactions occur entirely within the infrastructure of the chosen financial institution.
Executive Perspectives
Mridul Singhai, Product Engineering Lead at X, commented on the strategic objective behind the rollout:
“Cashtags close the gap between a ticker on the timeline and the market itself.”
