The platform partnership positions GeoLocs for subsequent Canadian expansion as the provider prepares for the opening of Alberta’s regulated market in July.

Leading international poker network GGPoker has formally selected GeoLocs by mkodo as its exclusive geolocation technology provider to anchor its regulated iGaming offering within the province of Ontario.

Frictionless Regulatory Compliance in the Canadian Market

Under the terms of the technical partnership, the GeoLocs advanced software layer will perform all required in-platform location verification checks for GGPoker players across Ontario. The targeted backend integration completely eliminates the traditional requirement for consumers to download a secondary verification app or complete a separate external software approval process.

By embedding geolocation compliance tools straight into the native poker client, GGPoker satisfies the strict territorial standards enforced by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) while removing transactional friction from the user onboarding journey.

GeoLocs is a highly specialized geolocation product engineered by technology supplier mkodo specifically to support web and mobile border checks for regulated digital gaming, sports betting, interactive poker, and lottery operators.

Sarne Lightman, Managing Director of GGPoker, emphasized that maintaining a frictionless player journey remains paramount as operators navigate evolving compliance rules:

“Our priority is to ensure players have a seamless experience on GGPoker whilst staying fully compliant with regulations. We chose GeoLocs because of their proven expertise, industry and regulatory knowledge and the fact that players don’t need to verify location through a separate app or download.”

Ben Scobie-Trumper, Head of Sales at mkodo, added that the enterprise partnership solidifies their market-share growth across Canada’s opening gaming corridors:

“The partnership with GGPoker is very exciting. We’re proud to support a globally recognised operator in delivering a seamless, compliant player experience in Ontario. With Alberta opening in July, the partnership with GGPoker in Ontario further reinforces GeoLocs’ expansion across the Canadian gaming market.”
