The European Gaming and Betting Association (EGBA) has officially welcomed Tipico, a leading German sports betting and online gambling operator, as its newest member.

This strategic partnership significantly bolsters the EGBA’s representation in the DACH region (Germany, Austria, and Switzerland), one of Europe’s most critical gambling markets.

Enhancing Industry Standards

Tipico’s membership is viewed as a major step toward advancing industry cooperation across the continent. By joining the association, Tipico commits to contributing to the EGBA’s various working groups and key initiatives. These efforts focus on critical industry issues, including responsible advertising, safer gambling protocols, and anti-money laundering (AML) compliance.

The association stated that the inclusion of Tipico reinforces the EGBA’s position as the primary voice for Europe’s online gambling sector. “Tipico’s membership of EGBA demonstrates its commitment to advancing industry cooperation and standards and will significantly strengthen EGBA’s representation in Germany and across German-speaking markets,” the association noted in a statement regarding the partnership.

A Unified Voice

The addition comes at a vital time for European regulatory cohesion. As national regulations across EU member states continue to evolve, the EGBA works to harmonize standards and ensure a high level of consumer protection. Tipico’s extensive market share and operational experience in Germany are expected to be valuable assets in these high-level policy discussions, ensuring that operators remain aligned on best practices for sustainability and player safety.
