A major leadership shake-up has hit the United States iGaming sector following the announcement from Flutter Entertainment that Amy Howe, the Chief Executive Officer of its flagship US brand FanDuel, has departed the company effective immediately.
The exit, characterized as a “Separation Agreement” in a formal filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission (ASX: FLTR / NYSE: FLUT), did not specify a reason for the transition, but it comes at a pivotal time for the operator’s North American growth strategy.
Management Transition and Financial Outlook
In the wake of Howe’s departure, Christian Genetski, the current President of FanDuel, will expand his responsibilities to lead the business. Genetski, a veteran of the brand since 2015, currently oversees corporate strategy, government affairs, and strategic partnerships.
Simultaneously, Dan Taylor, who has been leading Flutter’s international division, will assume the newly created role of President of Flutter Entertainment.
The SEC filing also revealed a substantial severance package for Howe totaling $4.37 million, which covers 24 months of salary and potential bonuses, alongside a structured vesting schedule for her accrued stock options.
This change occurs as Flutter reports its Q1 2026 financial performance, which showed revenue growth but also included a downward revision of the full-year 2026 EBITDA midpoint guidance.
A Legacy of Market Leadership
Reflecting on her five-year tenure, Amy Howe stated:
“It has been a privilege to lead FanDuel over the past five years. I’m incredibly proud of the business we’ve built and the talented team behind it, as well as the entertainment experiences we deliver to our customers every day. Together, we have established a clear leadership position in the market, strengthened our product and brand, and built strong foundations for future growth. With the business well positioned for what comes next, I believe this is the right moment to hand over to new leadership to build on that progress and capture the opportunities ahead. I leave with great confidence in the team and the future of FanDuel and I look forward to seeing its continued success.”
Peter Jackson, Group CEO of Flutter, expressed his gratitude for her service:
“With significant growth potential ahead, we have decided this is the right moment for new leadership at FanDuel. I would like to thank Amy for her contribution to Flutter and FanDuel and recognise the impact she has had on the business since joining in 2021. During this time, FanDuel has experienced periods of strong performance alongside meaningful change and transformation. We wish her every success for the future.”
