Novomatic Gets a 10-Year License Extension From The Dutch KSA

The Kansspelautoriteit (KSA), the Dutch official regulator, has approved Novomatic’s license for another ten years.

One of the biggest brands in iGaming, by obtaining this decade-long extension, Novomatic will proceed to supply its cutting-edge casino machines to land-based casino locations until 2035.

What is particularly interesting is that the KSA has previously cancelled the license extension of Novomatic, after certain special conditions that prevented the leading machine provider from extending its certification to legally offer its services within the Dutch gaming market.

However, this is all in the past, as the Dutch regulator managed to reach an agreement with Novomatic that saw the latter’s license extended for another ten years.

Novomatic’s legal compliance sector worked closely with its legal team to meet the criteria of the KSA, an effort which resulted in Novomatic obtaining a long-term approval from the regulator to proceed with the distribution of slot and casino machines to brick-and-mortar vendors in the Netherlands.

This development comes at a time when Novomatic has made several significant moves in its Dutch base of operations, with one of the most notable changes being the appointment of Dr Alexander Legat as the new CEO of Novomatic Netherlands back in September 2024.

Similarly, another big development was the acquisition of Novomatic’s Admiral Group in Austria by the leading German operator Tipico in January 2024, a deal that saw the German brand acquire a 100% stake in Novomatic’s Atlas Group Gmbh.

Lastly, at the beginning of April, Novomatic also made history by becoming the third iGaming brand to enter the UAE market and receive its official gaming license, right after Aristocrat and Wynn.

In related KSA news, the regulator proceeds with its crackdown against operators who fail to comply with Dutch gambling laws. One of the latest examples of this was the penalty issued to Starscream at the beginning of this week, and consequently, a ban that prohibits the company from offering its services in the country.
