International Game Technology (IGT), a globally-renowned iGaming company, is set to rebrand as Brightstar Lottery and begin trading under the new name.

This development comes following the sale of its Gaming and Digital division to Voyager Parent, a company owned by Apollo Global Management, an American asset management firm that primarily invests in alternative assets.

The deal of the acquisition is expected to close as early as 1 July 2025, after which it will operate with new branding.

Apollo, which also acquired Everi in a $6.3 billion deal last November, will merge IGT’s former gaming assets with Everi, in a very similar move as Scientific Games, which rebranded its gaming arm as Light & Wonder while keeping its lottery business separate.

Once the rebdranding deal is finalized, Brightstar will emerge as a focused, standalone lottery business. The new name and identity are designed to align with the company’s mission of being a “guiding light and source of inspiration” within the lottery sector.

Brightstar will maintain its role as a lottery operator, technology and instant ticket provider, and game developer. The company currently supports 90 lotteries across six continents, and provides lottery tech in 26 of the 46 regulated U.S. jurisdictions.

Most recently, the company secured a supplier licence in the United Arab Emirates in a move that perfectly aligns with its goals to expand its global footprint.

Vince Sadusky, Chief Executive Officer of International Game Technology, commented:

We have a nearly 50-year history of reliability, innovation and leadership in lottery, a bedrock from which we are launching Brightstar with a future-forward mindset of helping lottery customers around the world succeed in an environment of digital adoption, shifting player expectations and an increasing variety of gaming choices.

Marco Sala, Executive Chair of the Board, said:

Brightstar will be well-positioned to focus on driving innovation and growing the potential of the lottery business responsibly for the entertainment of players, the success of our customers and the support of the good causes they fund in their communities.
