Allwyn has announced that Wayne Pickup will be departing from his role as Chief Executive of Allwyn North America after an eight-year tenure with the company and its predecessor.

Mr. Pickup will remain in his post until November 14, 2025, to ensure a smooth transition period while the multinational lottery operator begins its search for a successor.

In a statement, Allwyn Group CEO Robert Chvatal thanked the departing executive for his contributions, noting that he helped “put Allwyn North America on the map.

We have begun the search for Wayne’s successor, who will continue driving growth in the Illinois Lottery and the expansion of our wider North American business over the coming months and years.

Mr. Pickup played a pivotal role during a transformative period for the company. Allwyn established its North American presence through the strategic acquisition of the Camelot family of brands, a move that followed its successful bid to operate the UK National Lottery.

This acquisition led to the rebranding of Camelot Illinois to Allwyn North America in 2023, with Pickup overseeing the transition. At the time, he affirmed the company’s commitment to “growing lottery revenue to benefit the communities they serve.”

Reflecting on his departure, Mr. Pickup expressed his confidence in the strong foundations that have been built for the company’s future success in the region.

Allwyn currently operates the lotteries in Illinois and Michigan and recently announced a partnership to bring its e-instant games to players in Washington D.C.

The company will now focus on finding a new leader to build on this foundation and continue its expansion in the competitive North American market.
