Gordon Moody, one of the most reputable responsible gambling organizations, has announced the launch of the International Gambling Harms Awareness Day 2025, which is scheduled for Wednesday, 26 March.

The goal of International Gambling Harms Awareness Day 2025 is to provide access to support services, encourage open conversations, and reduce the stigma around gambling addiction and problem gambling.

The theme for the campaign for the 2025 edition of the Gambling Harms Awareness Day is called #behindthebet, and it focuses on the pressing yet often neglected social, financial, and emotional consequences that stem from gambling addiction.

Gordon Moody hosts this event as a platform for sharing expert insights, stories, and resources for the purpose of helping individuals who suffer from problem gambling but are either reluctant or unwilling to seek help.

As a result, this noble campaign aims to shine the spotlight on the sad reality that gambling addiction is just as detrimental to the person’s mental well-being and personal as it is to finances and monetary losses.

This year, one of the key objectives of the campaign is to highlight the dangers of hiding gambling harm, being that many individuals are said to silently suffer as they are either reluctant to ask for help due to judgment or simply lack access to responsible gambling resources.

The Gambling Harms Awareness Day 2025 comes at the perfect time for Gordon Moody, being that the responsible gambling charity has been working hard in the past months to expand its services to support individuals with gambling addiction.

In December 2024, Gordon Moody launched its flagship treatment center for gambling addiction in Redditch, which offers dedicated rehabilitation programs and specialized therapy to residents who need advice or therapy on problem gambling.

Just a couple of months before this, Gordon Moody also introduced a training program called the Gambling Support First Aid that is specifically designed to train individuals and teach them the neccessary skills to first recognize and then respond to signs of gambling addiction and the perils that come with it.
