The Malta Gaming Authority (MGA), one of the most reputable iGaming authorities in the industry, has released an official statement where it declares that it has no ties with the controversial operator betonego.com.

This statement comes after the Chinese online gaming operator was revealed to have been operating with a license issued by the Malta Gaming Authority, which is weird, to say the least, as the MGA only issues licenses to reputable operators that offer their services within the European Union.

As per the official statement of the MGA, the gaming license that is supposedly issued by the authority to betonego.com is fraudulent and as such, false and misleading.

Moreover, the MGA reminds its consumers in its official statement not to utilize gambling services by an entity unless they are 100% sure that the company in question is legally authorized by the Malta Gaming Authority to provide such services.

Entities that are allowed to operate under an MGA license are subject to the strict regulatory framework that obliges authorized persons to comply with MGA’s legal requirements that are in the interest of consumers.

Activities of unlicensed and poorly monitored operators are considered unregulated, and as such, they do not meet the necessary standards and safeguards underlined by virtue of the legal framework, which in turn results in risky transactions for consumers and with that, increased danger.

The Malta Gaming Authority has posted the following link to the Licensee Register, where players can view the MGA-regulated entities.

We would like to use this opportunity to urge our dear readers and players to double-check everything prior to their first gaming session, and this particularly refers to the licensing of the operator.

Staying safe while gambling is only possible if you do your part, which is to inform yourself about everything there is about the operator you are pondering to join.
