Scientific Games has officially announced the appointment of Dan Flynn as Chief Executive Officer, effective November 2, 2026.
Bringing more than three decades of business and executive leadership experience spanning global operations, enterprise technology, and strategic transformation, Flynn assumes leadership of the lottery giant as it continues its global expansion. Simultaneously, the company announced that Kevin Schneider, who has served as Interim CEO since September 2026, has been appointed Chairman of the Scientific Games Board of Directors.
Flynn joins Scientific Games from CDK Global, a Brookfield portfolio company and premier provider of integrated technology solutions for automotive retailers, where he most recently served as Chief Transformation Officer. During his tenure, he spearheaded strategic transformation, software modernization, and business improvement initiatives.
His extensive corporate pedigree also includes serving as Executive Vice President of Business Transformation and President of North America during an earlier tenure at CDK, as well as leading Caterpillar’s global rental and used equipment division managing over $4 billion in annual sales. Earlier in his career, Flynn spent more than twenty years at Hertz, culminating in his role as Senior Vice President of North American Operations overseeing a $6.6 billion enterprise with 23,000 employees.
Executive perspectives on the leadership transition
Commenting on the appointment, newly appointed Chairman Kevin Schneider stated:
“For more than five decades, Scientific Games has grown through strong customer partnerships, deep lottery expertise and a commitment to innovation. Dan brings the operational and technology leadership experience to build on that momentum, support our talented teams and advance our global capabilities to support continued growth and the opportunities ahead. Together, we will help our customers meet evolving player expectations and succeed in an increasingly competitive marketplace.”
Outlining his strategic vision for the company, Dan Flynn added:
“Scientific Games combines global operations, technology and customer delivery in ways that align closely with my experience. I look forward to bringing that experience to a talented team with deep lottery expertise and a strong commitment to customer success. Together, we will build on the company’s achievements, support our employees’ development and strengthen the capabilities needed for future growth. Our focus will be on delivering the games, technology and services that help lotteries achieve their objectives and responsibly grow funding for good causes.”
Immediate international engagement
Flynn is scheduled to make his first major industry appearance as CEO alongside the Scientific Games team at the World Lottery Summit in Sydney, taking place from November 9 to 13, 2026, where he will meet with international lottery operators, partners, and industry leaders. Meanwhile, Kevin Schneider, who joined the board as an independent director in 2022 and was named Vice Chairman in March 2026, will continue collaborating closely with the executive leadership team on commercial and operational priorities in his new capacity as Chairman.
