Swedish state-owned gambling operator Svenska Spel published its interim financial report for Q3 and the first nine months of 2026, highlighting sustained revenue growth, market share gains, and strong customer engagement across core verticals.
For Q3 2026, group net gaming revenue amounted to SEK 1.898bn, representing a 1% increase (SEK 24m) compared to SEK 1.874bn in Q3 2025, supported by positive performance within Oddset, casino, Triss, and Lotto.
Operating profit for the group stood at SEK 656m, down 9% (SEK 62m) from SEK 718m in the corresponding period last year, reflecting higher expenditures dedicated to strategic corporate investments. The operating margin for the quarter was 35%, compared to 38% previously.
CEO commentary on market competition and strategic focus
Reflecting on the results, Anna Johnson, President and CEO of Svenska Spel, stated:
“Growth in the Swedish gaming market is moderate, while competition for customers is fierce. Against this background, it is a statement of strength that we are taking market shares in both the license and lottery markets during the first half of 2026. During the third quarter, the positive development continues with growth and good profitability. This shows that our focus on sustainable growth is paying off.”
Johnson also underscored the success of the company’s sports betting division:
“Our sports betting business continues to perform strongly. We exceeded our World Cup goals in the closing weeks of July, with high customer activity all the way to the final. In addition to successful activities and offers to customers, it is clear that our partnership with the Swedish Football Association strengthens the business and is an important part of an attractive customer offering.”
