Platform Supplier Strengthens Leadership Team to Drive Worldwide Growth Across Regulated Markets
White Hat Gaming has officially appointed Leon Thomas as its new Chief Commercial Officer, effective Tuesday, September 29, 2026. In his new role, Thomas will oversee sales, marketing, and strategic partnerships as the company targets expansion in regulated markets across the globe.
Thomas transitions to White Hat Gaming from Hard Rock Digital, where he served as Vice President International and spearheaded market expansion initiatives into Canada, the Netherlands, and Mexico. His extensive industry background also includes senior positions at Entain, such as Group Director of Strategy and Corporate Development and Managing Director for Canadian-facing brands like Sports Interaction, alongside operator experience at tombola and B2B leadership roles at Microgaming and instant win provider IWG.
The strategic appointment coincides with a period of platform supplier consolidation, which has prompted various operators to reevaluate their technology stacks. White Hat Gaming aims to capitalize on this shift by targeting brands moving away from consolidating or retiring suppliers, as well as new entrants seeking reliable solutions in regulated jurisdictions.
Executive Leadership Commentary
Phil Gelvan, CEO of White Hat Gaming, commented on the appointment:
“Leon has sat on both sides of the table. He has run operator businesses and scaled B2B suppliers, so he knows exactly what operators need from a platform partner. He is the right person to lead our commercial growth across regulated markets worldwide.”
Leon Thomas, Chief Commercial Officer, added:
“I’m excited to join White Hat Gaming as the company embarks on its latest evolution. My focus will be on partnering with operators who need greater reliability and scale, and helping brands launch with confidence in regulated markets anywhere in the world.”
