Website blocking remains a key enforcement mechanism utilized by authorities to protect Australian consumers from unregulated platforms. Since the ACMA initiated its first blocking requests in November 2019, a total of 1,822 illegal gambling and affiliate websites have been blocked. Additionally, over 230 unauthorized services have withdrawn from the Australian market since rules were tightened in 2017.
