Historic Brazilian Football Club Marks Milestone with Global Tributes and Special Commemorative Artwork
Sport Club Corinthians Paulista is celebrating its 116th anniversary, marking over a century of football history, passionate support, and major competitive achievements. Founded in the Bom Retiro neighborhood of São Paulo in 1910, the club has grown into one of the most iconic institutions in Brazilian and South American football, boasting a massive global fanbase of over 30 million supporters and a storied tradition of domestic and international success.
Commemorating Triumphs and Legacy
To mark the milestone, special celebratory artwork and campaigns have been unveiled under the banner “The Source of Our Madness,” highlighting key modern chapters in the club’s journey, including commemorative visuals referencing the Paulistão 2025 and Copa do Brasil 2025 alongside the official 116th-anniversary crest. The visual tribute captures the energy of the “Fiel” supporters and the relentless competitive spirit that defines the Corinthians tradition.
Highlighting the dedication of the supporters, Davi Oliveira, head of Sponsorships at Esportes Gaming Brasil Group, stated:
“The Fiel fanbase is the beating heart of Corinthians, and every initiative is designed to honour that dedication. Dressing our social channels in black and white and calling on supporters to create the biggest Poropopó in history are ways of recognising the people who make this club a giant, while maintaining our commitment to creating unforgettable memories and strengthening this connection.”
Reflecting on the milestone and the broader collaboration, Oliveira added:
“Celebrating Corinthians’ 116th anniversary means celebrating a passion shared by tens of millions of fans around the world. Since the beginning of our journey as master sponsor, our objective has been to stand alongside the supporters and generate real returns for the club. Seeing this project become firmly established both on and off the pitch reinforces how proud we are to be part of this history.”
The milestone drew widespread global recognition, with tributes flooding in from athletes, former players, public figures, and rival clubs alike. English sister club Corinthian-Casuals, whose historic tour inspired the Brazilian side’s foundation, saluted the anniversary alongside European giants like Paris Saint-Germain and AS Monaco.
Domestically, fierce rivals Palmeiras joined in the celebrations by acknowledging the enduring significance of their historic derby. Current squad members, including forward Memphis Depay, also shared their pride in representing the club as festivities unfolded across Brazil and international platforms.
