Strategic Investment Bridges iGaming Infrastructure with Next-Generation Sports Technology and Fan Engagement
Vyking Ventures, the dedicated investment arm of Vyking, has officially become an investor in Dopamine Sports Ventures, a specialized early-stage and growth fund focusing on sports technology. The partnership strengthens Vyking Ventures’ mandate to back high-potential companies operating at the intersection of gaming, technology, and advanced player and fan engagement.
Dopamine’s Specialized Investment Approach
Originating from an established network of angel investors and operators across the sports, entertainment, and media industries, Dopamine operates a targeted investment model. Following the success of its initial self-funded vehicle, the group is deploying capital through its second specialized fund, targeting early- and growth-stage enterprises within sports tech and adjacent verticals.
Rather than deploying capital broadly, the fund maintains a highly selective strategy, combining financial backing with the operational expertise, industry relationships, and strategic insights of its founding partners:
- Andreas Meinrad
- Barry McNeill
- Markus Egger
Together, the leadership team brings decades of executive experience across international sports, media, and technology sectors, granting portfolio companies access to a robust practitioner network well beyond standard capital.
Aligning Gaming Expertise with Sports Innovation
The partnership builds upon Vyking’s core experience in iGaming, platform engineering, and crypto-native infrastructure. The investment underscores Vyking Ventures’ philosophy that hands-on industry expertise and human relationships are pivotal in identifying and scaling category-winning enterprises.
Commenting on the new partnership, Franz Gerhart, CEO of Vyking, stated:
“Sports and gaming are converging faster than ever, and Dopamine has built exactly the kind of network and hands-on operating experience we look for in a partner. We’re proud to back Dopamine and look forward to supporting its portfolio companies as they scale.”
