Surveillance Specialist Introduces Natural-Language Video Search Tool Designed to Cut Investigation Times Across Large Camera Networks
Security and surveillance technology specialist Synectics has successfully completed the first customer deployment of Synergy Search, its new AI-driven video search tool. Designed to operate seamlessly with existing camera systems, including extensive deployments featuring thousands of cameras, the technology enables rapid, natural-language searches across both live and recorded video feeds.
While the identity of the initial customer and their specific industry sector remain undisclosed, the tool is currently available through an early access program as part of the latest version of Synectics’ proprietary Synergy platform, ahead of a wider commercial rollout planned later this year.
Natural-Language Video Analysis and Cross-Sector Applications
Synergy Search transforms traditional surveillance investigations by allowing users to locate people, vehicles, objects, and specific actions using ordinary, everyday language. According to Synectics, the capability can dramatically compress investigation workflows that previously required hours or days down to mere minutes.
The technology is targeted at high-stakes and high-traffic environments, including:
- Casinos and Resorts: Investigating suspected fraud, resolving patron disputes, and handling regulatory compliance incidents across massive surveillance networks.
- Law Enforcement & Public Spaces: Assisting police with suspect identification, vehicle tracking, witness verification, and event timeline reconstruction.
- Transport and Critical Infrastructure: Monitoring operational safety, examining security incidents, and managing complex public environments.
Driving Recurring Software Growth and Platform Strategy
Chief Executive Amanda Larnder highlighted that Synergy Search aligns with the company’s broader objective to deliver scalable products that resolve critical operational challenges while accelerating growth. The tool supports Synectics’ product-led development approach, which integrates subscription-based, recurring-revenue capabilities into the core Synergy platform.
The early access rollout follows closely behind other recent technological advancements from Synectics, such as the introduction of Scene Check technology, designed to automate the verification of thousands of surveillance cameras in minutes, and the attainment of the UK government-endorsed Cyber Assurance of Physical Security Systems (CAPSS) certification.
As customer demonstrations and engagement continue during the early access phase, Synectics anticipates expanding the tool’s market presence ahead of its full commercial launch later this year.
