Philippine Regulator Recognized for Quality Management Standards and Operational Excellence Following Surveillance Audits
The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) has officially been awarded the prestigious ISO 9001:2015 international certification for its quality management systems. The certification was formally presented to PAGCOR Chairman and CEO Alejandro H. Tengco by auditors from DQS Certification Phils. Inc. on August 13 at the PAGCOR Corporate Office in Pasay City. The milestone follows a rigorous series of surveillance audits conducted across designated operational locations in March 2026.
Certified Locations and Quality Framework
The ISO 9001:2015 standard globally governs quality management systems, recognizing organizations that maintain consistent quality standards, high operational efficiency, and strict process accountability. The newly secured certification covers 16 designated Casino Filipino branches and operational sites spread across the Philippines’ major island groups:
- Luzon Branches: Adriatico, Cagayan Valley, Calamba, El Rancho, Leisure World, Oriental Pavilion, Premier, Subic Bay Yacht Club, Town Center, Tropicana, and Venezia.
- Visayas Branches: Fuente, Iloilo, and Mactan.
- Mindanao Branches: Apo View and Grand Imperial Gensan.
Commitment to Continuous Improvement and Sustainability
Speaking at the presentation ceremony, Chairman Tengco praised the dedication of agency personnel in achieving the milestone. He emphasized that the structured ISO framework plays a vital role in strengthening internal processes, boosting operational efficiency, and maintaining organizational consistency.
Beyond core quality standards, Tengco urged staff members to actively support PAGCOR’s broader Quality and Environmental Management System, directly linking process quality to the agency’s ongoing environmental sustainability initiatives.
Validity and Ongoing Compliance
The newly awarded ISO certification remains officially valid through March 22, 2029. To maintain certified status throughout this multi-year period, all 16 covered locations will be subject to mandatory annual surveillance audits conducted by the certifying body.
