Kaizen Gaming Foundation Delivers Fully Modernized Pediatric Infrastructure to Greece’s National Health System
Penteli Children’s General Hospital has completed an extensive modernization and renovation program funded and executed exclusively by the Kaizen Foundation, the international charitable arm established by tier-1 iGaming operator Kaizen Gaming. The comprehensive structural and technological redevelopment concluded with an official handover ceremony that returned the upgraded clinical facilities to Greece’s National Health System (ESY).
The event, attended by the Prime Minister of Greece alongside top state and health ministry officials, marked the finalization of a milestone €4.5 million corporate donation aimed at elevating the country’s public pediatric healthcare capacity.
Targeted Infrastructure Upgrades and Clinical Scope
The modernization program was designed in close coordination with hospital leadership and national health authorities to address the logistical demands of specialized pediatric medicine. The capital expenditure focused directly on expanding critical surgical capabilities and optimizing downstream patient care.
Key technical developments completed during the project include:
- The thorough modernization of four central surgical suites.
- The technical integration of state-of-the-art medical equipment and sterilized processing units.
- Complete refurbishment of the first-floor Orthopedic, ENT, Surgical, and laboratory departments.
- Provision of advanced pediatric patient bedding and secure medication logistics distribution systems.
Beyond the clinical perimeter, the funding facilitated essential structural repairs, including advanced fire safety systems, comprehensive accessibility solutions for people with disabilities (PwD), and the complete landscaping of the hospital’s exterior grounds to feature a contemporary playground and structured parking zones.
Institutional Synergy and Public-Private Collaboration
The completion of the facility upgrade highlights a strengthening trend of institutional public-private partnerships within the European Mediterranean landscape, showing how corporate gambling stakeholders are increasingly structuring high-impact ESG and compliance frameworks to deliver long-term societal value.
The official handover was marked by the presence of Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, Minister of Health Adonis Georgiadis, and Deputy Minister Marios Themistocleous, who joined medical staff and hospital administrators to inspect the new infrastructure.
Panos Konstantopoulos, President of the Kaizen Foundation, highlighted the broader strategic vision behind the corporate initiative during the handover ceremony:
“Our initiatives are guided by the core mission of creating meaningful societal impact and enhancing well-being. We viewed the modernization of Penteli Children’s General Hospital as an essential investment in the public healthcare system, aiming to provide a facility that meets the most rigorous standards of pediatric treatment. Our goal was to foster a superior environment for both patients and the dedicated medical professionals who serve them. I wish to extend my gratitude to the Prime Minister, the Ministry of Health, and the hospital administration for their exceptional partnership in bringing this impactful vision to life.”
The infrastructure project stands as one of the most resource-intensive capital contributions completed by the Kaizen Foundation within the public health domain. This initiative reflects a broader compliance posture among market-leading licensees, bridging corporate social responsibility with long-term institutional stability in core operating jurisdictions.
