blue one casino jeju island

In a move signaling a fresh chapter for the regional gaming landscape, the Jeju Sun Hotel officially rebranded its gaming operations as Blue One Casino on March 16.

The transition was marked by a high-profile launch ceremony hosted by the venue’s new owner, KH Group, through its specialized subsidiary, Blue One Ltd. This relaunch follows a comprehensive remodeling period that had effectively suspended all casino activities since mid-December 2025.

A Multimillion-Dollar Demerger and Acquisition

The ownership change was facilitated by a complex transaction with the Philippines-based Bloomberry Resorts Corp, which finalized its exit from the Jeju market on March 4. The deal was structured as a demerger, where the casino business was spun off into a new entity titled Heaven Co Ltd before being acquired by Blue One Ltd.

Under the terms of the agreement, Bloomberry received an initial payment of KRW7.00 billion (US$4.6 million), with a final installment of KRW3.00 billion scheduled for early 2027. While KH Group now controls the gaming operations, Bloomberry retains ownership of the underlying real estate and hotel management.

Operational Overhaul and Tourism Synergy

To ensure a seamless transition, KH Group prioritized staff continuity by transferring employees from the previous administration. This stabilization, combined with the casino’s strategic location just ten minutes from Jeju International Airport, positions the venue to capitalize on the island’s consistent flow of international tourists.

The new management of Jeju Sun Casino plans to pivot heavily toward table games to drive consistent revenue growth. Blue One Ltd aims to align with a broader shift in South Korean tourism, moving away from traditional shopping and toward immersive, high-spend experiences. By encouraging “longer stays” among international guests, KH Group hopes to revitalize a property that faced significant financial headwinds in 2025, during which gross gaming revenues plummeted by over 60%.
