MGA blocks four gambling platforms for misleading practices

The Malta Gaming Authority (MGA) has issued an urgent enforcement notice identifying four gambling platforms falsely claiming to hold Maltese regulatory authorization.

In a statement released on January 29, 2026, the regulator confirmed it has no connection to the following domains:

  • slotvocalnocasheu.vip
  • joypang-0907.com
  • nobet177.com
  • playxfortuna.com

The MGA described any mention of its licensure on these four gambling platforms as “false and misleading,” emphasizing that these entities are not authorized to provide gaming services under Maltese law.

Surrendered Licenses Used to Deceive Players

Investigation into the flagged sites reveals a tactical misuse of regulatory history. Platforms such as joypang-0907.comand playxfortuna.com reportedly cite license numbers belonging to companies like Bayton Limited and SLTM Ltd. While these firms were previously licensed, those credentials have since been surrendered.

The MGA warned that referencing expired or surrendered licenses is a deceptive practice intended to leverage Malta’s global regulatory reputation to appear legitimate.

Player Protection Risks

The warning extends beyond brand misuse to direct consumer safety. Unlicensed operators do not adhere to Malta’s strict consumer protection framework, leaving players without safeguards regarding:

  • Payment Security: No guarantee of winning payouts or fund protection.
  • Dispute Resolution: No legal recourse through the MGA’s dedicated channels.
  • Fair Play: No verification of game randomness or software integrity.

“The MGA reminds consumers not to utilize services unless they have verified that the entity is authorized,” the authority stated. Players are urged to consult the official MGA Licensee Register before depositing funds. This latest action is part of a broader 2026 enforcement push to eliminate “bad actors” and maintain transparency within the iGaming landscape.
