The UEFA Foundation has extended its partnership with the Kaizen Foundation in an effort to further promote equality and inclusion via the number one sport on the planet.
The renewed partnership will be presented during the 10th Anniversary celebrations of the UEFA Foundation scheduled for Nyon on the 28th of April, and will mark the start of a charity event sponsored by UEFA and Kaizen, an amputee football match featuring players from England, Poland, and Greece.
Prior to the football match, the Kaizen Foundation will also support and organize a conference that will discuss inclusion in the sport at the Château de Bossey.
Moreover, the gathering will touch upon the pivotal role of football in nurturing social responsibility and, as such, will include guests and contributions from experts and academics such as Prof. Dr. Jürgen Buschmann of the German Sports University of Cologne.
This partnership extension is also poised to further expand via the project “Legacy for the Future,” which seeks to empower women and girls across Europe, including Germany, Denmark, Belgium, and Portugal.
To ensure the success of this initiative, both UEFA and Kaizen will work together with women’s national teams in order to enable access to legal rights, sport, and education, all while raising awareness via local and national partnerships with sports and charity organizations.
As part of the collaboration, the Kaizen Foundation is set to donate €300,000 ($340,000) to support these initiatives, which is mainly due to the company’s close partnership with the “10,000 Smiles” project courtesy of the UEFA Foundation, which used the UEFA Euro 2024 competition to provide match tickets to charities working with at-risk children.
Carine N’koué, General Secretary of the UEFA Foundation for Children, commented on the development and expressed delight with the prospect of partnering with the Kaizen Foundation and building a better tomorrow for the unprivileged and the vulnerable.
Football has an extraordinary power to bring everybody together. Partnering with organizations like the Kaizen Foundation is key to building a movement that drives real impact and leaves a lasting legacy. Not only are we celebrating our 10th anniversary together, but by deepening our collaboration with the Legacy for the Future project, we can continue to build on our mission to use the power of football to unite and bring joy to millions of disadvantaged children around the world.
