European Entertainment Group AB has announced that its subsidiary, ComeOn Group, has been awarded all gambling licences it applied for from the Finnish National Police Board, securing authorization to enter Finland’s newly regulated online gambling market when it officially opens on July 1, 2027.
The granted licences authorize the group to deliver online casino and sports betting services to Finnish players under the country’s upcoming competitive framework.
ComeOn Group submitted its formal applications on March 2, 2026, the exact opening day of the application window, positioning itself among the very first operators to be awarded licences under Finland’s new Gambling Act. This legislative transition from a long-standing state monopoly to a structured licensing model represents one of the most significant regulatory shifts within the European online gambling sector.
Executive commentary on strategic market entry
Itai Frieberger, Chief Executive Officer of European Entertainment Group, commented on the regulatory milestone:
“Securing all the licences we applied for, required to execute the Group’s plans for the regulated Finnish market, is an important milestone and reflects the work our teams put into preparing for Finland’s new regulatory framework. Finland is a market where we look forward to serving Finnish customers in a fully regulated environment from July 2027.”
Raffaele Amodio, Group Chief Financial Officer, added:
“Finland is a core part of our growth strategy. Entering a regulated market with licences in hand gives the Group a strong platform for sustainable, compliant revenue growth, and supports our continued commitment to the 100% regulated revenue.”
Preparing for the transition to a competitive market
The transition to a licensed market structure aligns with broader European trends toward robust regulatory oversight, consumer protection, and strict compliance standards. By securing its operational credentials well ahead of the July 2027 launch date, ComeOn Group has established a solid foundation to deploy its product suite and capture meaningful market share in a secure operating environment. The early approval underscores the company’s meticulous preparation and rigorous alignment with the Finnish National Police Board’s compliance mandates.
