Market intelligence data from Blask covering September 2026 reveals significant shifts in global consumer demand for iGaming brands across 142 tracked countries. The figures indicate that user interest is currently on a downward trajectory in 84 nations, while rising in 56 and remaining flat in just two.
Long-term patterns indicate that prolonged momentum is relatively rare, with only nine country-level trends lasting 12 months or longer, six of which represent sustained declines.

Long-running trends dominated by downward trajectories
Among the nine countries where demand trends have held firm for a year or more up to September 2026, six are experiencing contractions spanning three continents: Rwanda and Morocco in Africa, Denmark and Slovenia in Europe, and Thailand and Myanmar in Asia. Rwanda’s downward slide stands out as both the longest and deepest among the group.
In Denmark, Thailand, and Myanmar, the downward movement initiated concurrently in August 2025, though the contraction has proven far more severe in the two Asian markets than in Denmark.
Conversely, Venezuela leads all tracked nations with the longest continuous growth trend, boasting rising user interest for over two and a half years dating back to February 2024. Upswings in Sudan and Zimbabwe have likewise persisted for over a year, though Sudan’s index standing in September 2026 ranked as the lowest among all 142 countries, meaning its percentage gains stem from a minimal baseline.
Across mid-length trajectories of six months or more, declines similarly dominate, accounting for 34 out of 46 recorded trends, while growth represents a third or less of the total distribution.

Summer 2026 brings sharp regional divergence
The summer months of June and July 2026 introduced a pronounced structural split in demand trajectories across the Americas and Africa. In the Americas, a summer turning point concluded long-running upswings for seven countries, including El Salvador, whose 29-month growth streak initiated in February 2024 came to a close.
Between June and September, El Salvador’s Blask Index fell by 25.3%, giving back 27.7% of its cumulative gains. Across all tracked nations in the Americas, subsequent declines erased more than half of prior gains everywhere except El Salvador, led by Costa Rica, where the index plummeted 46.5% after June, undoing 74.7% of its increase accrued since August 2025.
In stark contrast, every single tracked African nation experienced a trend reversal toward positive growth during the summer. Uganda recorded a dramatic rebound, with its Blask Index climbing 44.1% between July and September to recover 95.9% of losses accumulated since October 2025. Similar post-summer surges in Burkina Faso and Senegal offset the majority of preceding losses, while Ethiopia, Tunisia, and Malawi recaptured smaller portions of their prior declines.
Outside these two primary regions, Blask noted that demand began contracting in Iceland and Lebanon while expanding in Montenegro and the United Arab Emirates. Overall, among the 80 countries where trends shifted in June or July 2026, user interest rose in all 32 African markets while falling in 16 of the 18 nations located in the Americas.
