Betr Promotes Alex Ursa to COO, Alex Kuwada to CMO, and Mike Denevi to CCO Ahead of Upcoming Prediction Markets Product Launch
US sports betting and gaming operator Betr has officially reorganized its executive leadership team, announcing the high-profile internal promotions of three key founding and senior executives. Under the newly unveiled corporate structure, Alex Ursa has been elevated to Chief Operating Officer, Alex Kuwada assumes the role of Chief Marketing Officer, and Mike Denevi steps into the position of Chief Content Officer.
The executive reshuffle arrives at a crucial point for the business as it expands its footprint across the United States. The operator is currently preparing to launch its proprietary prediction markets product later in 2026, which will be integrated directly into its existing unified gaming ecosystem alongside its active products: Betr Picks, Betr Social Sportsbook, Betr Social Casino, and Betr Arcade.
Aligning Product Infrastructure and Data-Driven Acquisition Loops
Alex Ursa, the very first employee hired at Betr, takes over the COO post after serving nearly four years as Head of Gaming. In his expanded capacity, Ursa is tasked with managing core product development and day-to-day operations, including the engineering roadmap for what the company describes as the industry’s first gaming super app. Prior to joining the startup, Ursa spent eight years within the Flutter Entertainment organization building deep operational expertise.
The marketing and customer lifecycle engine will be led by Alex Kuwada, who joined the business as Head of Marketing in July 2024. As CMO, Kuwada will oversee key commercial elements, including user acquisition, database retention, and VIP management functions. Like Ursa, Kuwada was recruited from the Flutter ecosystem, having spent six years with FanDuel, where he served in key growth roles including Senior Director of Growth and Growth Director.
Rounding out the executive updates, Mike Denevi steps into the Chief Content Officer role following a successful four-year run as Head of Media. Denevi, who was the company’s second official hire in April 2022, will continue to direct the operator’s overarching content and brand strategy. Before joining the firm, he spent nearly ten years at Bleacher Report, including a tenure as Director of Brand Strategy.
Joey Levy, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Betr, highlighted the vital role these three executives have played in establishing the brand’s position in the highly competitive US market:
“We would not be where we are today without these three executives. I am thrilled to continue scaling Betr into a category defining business with them.”
