Betsson Group has officially announced the launch of the Betsson Foundation, a registered public benefit foundation designed to unify and scale the Group’s charitable, community, and sports-related initiatives under a single organization.
Centralizing Community and CSR Efforts
For years, Betsson Group has supported local communities across its various markets through employee-led fundraising, grassroots projects, and corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives linked to sports partnerships. The newly established Foundation will act as a centralized framework to coordinate these efforts, enhance collaboration, and drive long-term positive impact.
Jesper Svensson, CEO of Betsson Operations, emphasized the role of sports in the new initiative:
“Sport and community engagement have long been part of Betsson’s DNA. The launch of the Betsson Foundation strengthens our ability to support the people, programmes and organisations making a positive difference in our communities. It also gives us the opportunity to work even more closely with our clubs and athlete partners to connect the power and reach of sport with meaningful community initiatives.”
Jonna Danlund, Director of ESG, added:
“Through the Betsson Foundation, we aim to create lasting positive impact by supporting worthy causes, fostering long-term partnerships, and bringing together initiatives that strengthen communities across our locations.”
Global Reach and Governance
Sport will remain a primary focus, leveraging Betsson’s global partnerships to expand community outreach. An early example of the Foundation’s work includes supporting Boosting Up, a five-year program in Peru that assists participants from a Lima school through football, English-language education, and nutritional backing.
Incorporated in Malta as a separate legal entity, the Betsson Foundation operates under a strict governance framework consisting of the founding company, a Board of Administrators, and a Supervisory Council to ensure full oversight and legal compliance.
