The Canadian lottery and gaming operator, Loto-Québec, has announced a strong start to its fiscal year, reporting total revenues of CA1.1billion (US810 million) for the first quarter, which ended June 26, 2025.

This figure represents a notable 11% increase compared to the same period in the previous year, demonstrating robust performance across its key business segments.

The lottery sector was a major contributor to the positive results, generating CA$524.3 million in revenue for the quarter. The casino and gaming hall division also performed exceptionally well, posting revenues of CA$447.8 million.

The company’s online gaming platform continued its growth trajectory, with lotoquebec.com experiencing a 10% year-on-year increase in revenue. This digital growth highlights the success of Loto-Québec’s strategy to enhance its online offerings and engage with a wider audience.

The strong revenue performance resulted in a consolidated net income of CA$542.4 million for the quarter, marking a significant 14% increase from the previous year.

This profitability underscores the efficiency of the corporation’s operations and its ability to manage costs effectively.

Jean-François Bergeron, President and CEO of Loto-Québec, praised the collective effort of the company’s teams in achieving these excellent results.

The results for the first quarter are excellent. I want to commend the great work of all our teams. Their efforts are what enabled us to achieve these results, which are in line with our budget forecasts.

Bergeron also highlighted the corporation’s commitment to responsible gaming and community contributions, emphasizing that their primary mission extends beyond financial performance.

What makes me even prouder is that we achieved these results while upholding our responsible commercialization principles, which are applied in a solid, structured and rigorous manner across the organisation.

Loto-Québec’s strong first-quarter performance positions it well for the remainder of the fiscal year, reinforcing its role as a key contributor to the province’s revenues while maintaining a strong focus on social responsibility.
