SiGMA Group has officially announced that SiGMA World 2027 will move its flagship Rome show to May, responding directly to extensive feedback from clients, exhibitors, and industry partners calling for a more balanced and manageable European event calendar.
The strategic decision reflects a clear mandate from the global gaming market: industry stakeholders want Europe’s three largest gaming exhibitions spaced more evenly throughout the year. By shifting the Rome summit to May, SiGMA aims to establish approximately four-month intervals between its major European gatherings in Rome, Barcelona, and Lisbon.
This intentional spacing provides businesses with adequate time to prepare, plan budgets, engage meaningfully with clients, and maximize their return on participation without facing the strain of an overcrowded autumn schedule.
Reflecting on the bold scheduling pivot, SiGMA Group Founder Eman Pulis stated:
“We have listened and taken the bold decision to move our show to May. We’ve taken this decision in the best interest of the industry.”
Combating event fatigue and enhancing predictability
The calendar adjustment is a core component of SiGMA’s broader commitment to reducing event fatigue and fostering a predictable cadence for the international gaming community. With a growing number of conferences and exhibitions competing for corporate attention, better spacing ensures that exhibitors, sponsors, and delegates can extract genuine value from every summit rather than treating them as routine entries in an overcrowded diary.
By putting the practical needs of clients and partners first, SiGMA is demonstrating the organizational agility required to build a smarter, more effective global event calendar.
A significantly expanded outdoor festival experience in Rome
Beyond logistical and scheduling benefits, the move to May unlocks major operational advantages in the host city. Favorable spring weather conditions will enable SiGMA to significantly expand the outdoor footprint of the Rome event, with plans to triple outdoor presence in 2027.
This expanded layout will cultivate a much larger festival atmosphere, incorporating dedicated zones for high-level networking, entertainment, immersive hospitality, and community experiences. By seamlessly blending business transactions with festival-scale entertainment, the upgraded format reinforces SiGMA World’s standing as a premier international gathering for the sector.
As part of its ongoing calendar review, SiGMA Group is also evaluating the timing of other international events across its global tour to ensure seamless alignment with emerging market developments and industry demand heading into 2027 and beyond.
Synchronized Event Calendar: AIBC, AGS, and FX.World Move Alongside SiGMA to May 2027
Along with SiGMA World, AIBC World, AGS Rome, and the FX.World Summit will also move their Rome shows to May 2027. This synchronized rescheduling ensures that all four flagship events transition together, creating a unified and balanced calendar that aligns with the broader group strategy.
