Werner Becher, CEO of Kambi Group, smiling during a professional appearance, marking the completion of the transition from FDJ.

Kambi Group has officially assumed the role of primary sportsbook partner for the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG), completing a major strategic transition within the Canadian province’s regulated iGaming market.

The move follows the finalization of a novation agreement involving FDJ Gaming Solutions France, which previously held the contract.

Details of the Transition from FDJ Gaming Solutions

As of January 27, the Kambi-powered sportsbook is live, powering OLG’s sports betting operations across both retail and digital channels. This includes the PROLINE brand available in physical retail locations and the PROLINE+ online platform. The transition places Kambi at the helm of the technology stack for one of North America’s most significant lottery-operated sportsbooks, with all profits from the operation continuing to be reinvested into the province of Ontario.

Enhancing the Sports Betting Experience in Ontario

The switch was originally announced in 2025, pending regulatory approvals and specific conditions that have now been met. This allows FDJ Gaming Solutions France to exit its operational role while Kambi steps in to provide its turnkey platform.

Executive Reactions to the Strategic Partnership

Werner Becher, CEO of Kambi Group, expressed enthusiasm about the launch, highlighting the prestige of the partnership. “We are delighted to have officially completed this transition and to begin this next chapter of our partnership with OLG,” Becher said.

“We value our partnership with OLG and look forward to leveraging our proven technology to help them drive sustainable growth and provide a safe and entertaining betting product for their customers in Ontario.”

Duncan Hannay, President and CEO of OLG, echoed these sentiments, noting the importance of product reliability in the competitive Ontario market. “OLG strives to provide a market leading PROLINE sports betting experience for our players,” Hannay stated.

“We look forward to working alongside our new partner, Kambi, who offers a proven track record of product excellence and reliability, as we deliver on our commitment to give back to the people and communities of Ontario.”
