Global Sports Platform Becomes New Direct-to-Fan Destination for Cavaliers Games Starting with the 2026-27 NBA Season
The Cleveland Cavaliers and DAZN have announced a multi-year partnership that designates DAZN as the exclusive direct-to-fan streaming platform for Cavaliers games and original team programming. Beginning with the 2026-27 NBA season, DAZN will stream all regular-season games not selected for national broadcast, preseason matchups, and team-produced content across smart TVs, mobile devices, web browsers, game consoles, and partner platforms.
Next-Generation Production via RESN
As part of the agreement, game production moves in-house through Rock Entertainment Sports Network (RESN), the team’s Emmy Award-winning studio. The upgraded broadcast will feature 19 cameras, including Cosm’s ultra-high-resolution 10.5K systems, alongside predictive AI, data-driven visual overlays, and augmented-reality elements. Fans can also customize their experience with multi-view setups and alternative feeds while enjoying the familiar on-air broadcast team: play-by-play announcer John Michael, analyst Brad Daugherty, reporter Serena Winters, and pre- and postgame host Cayleigh Griffin.
Leadership Perspectives
Nic Barlage, CEO of Rock Entertainment Group, Cleveland Cavaliers, and Rocket Arena, commented on the new broadcast direction:
“The investment we’re making in our broadcast platform creates a fan-centric destination that enriches the experience while simplifying how fans connect to Cavaliers basketball. By coupling our in-house production capabilities at RESN with DAZN’s industry-leading platform, we’re bringing our fans a broadcast built on advanced technology and engagement, resulting in a more immersive and personalized experience.”
Shay Segev, CEO of DAZN Group, added:
“The United States is a key growth market for DAZN, and the Cleveland Cavaliers are exactly the kind of forward-thinking partner we want to build with as we expand our local sports offering. DAZN is becoming the platform where fans can follow the teams and competitions they care about most through a modern and digital-first viewing experience. Together with the Cavaliers, we’re bringing fans closer to the team while helping shape the future of direct-to-consumer sports distribution.”
