Today’s story from Pennsylvania is an inspiring tale about the AAA Four-Diamond Mount Airy Casino Resort’s donation to help a local animal shelter, Camp Papillon.
Known for being the first casino in Pennsylvania to get the prestigious AAA Four-Diamond certificate, Mount Airy Casino Resort makes a pledge to donate a substantial amount of bed sets in order to keep the animals warm and cozy while they wait to be adopted.
In fact, the casino will donate several trucks of bed sets made by Mount Airy’s own high-end luxury Egyptian cotton. Needless to state the obvious, without this generous donation by Mount Airy, the Camp Paipillion shelter would’ve never been able to procure such quality bedding, nevertheless bed sets made of Egyptian cotton.
Being that Camp Papillon is an animal shelter that takes pride in its no-kill and non-profit policy, this is definitely a classy move by Mount Airy. And this move is even nobler if we take into account the dire financial situation of Camp Papillon and the ongoing battle to keep the abandoned dogs warm during these winter months with freezing temperatures.
Consequently, it is no surprise whatsoever that the representatives from Camp Papillon are above the roof and utterly grateful for this donation. According to Felicia Katz, the VP (Vice President) of Camp Papillon, this donation will greatly increase the comfort of the animals, and with that, make them calmer, and eventually easier to adopt.
These linens foster relaxation and alleviate some of the stress that animals may experience when confined to a shelter. We know firsthand that calm animals are more adoptable animals.

Speaking on the behalf of the casino, the COO (Chief Operating Officer) and general manager of the resort, Ben Koff, states that Mount Airy has always been keen to support its community. Especially when it comes to “regional nonprofits” that struggle financially.
Finding a way to reuse these quality linens while helping those in need represents Mount Airy’s dedication to regional nonprofits and our commitment to serving as responsible stewards of the environment.

Yet it doesn’t end there. The casino resort also donated linens and bedding to the Monroe County Homeless Shelter, the Gracedale Nursing Home, the Metamorphosis Women’s Empowerment Initiative, as well as the Whig Valley Outreach.
From here, it is clear that this is not the first time that Mount Airy Casino Resort embarks on a charitable mission. In fact, the casino has already donated more than $1 million in donations, community sponsorships, and cash grants, including The Salvation Army and Meals on Wheels.
And Mount Airy doesn’t intend to stop there! As part of the collaboration with Pocono Mountains United Way, the casino resort is currently working to donate up to a thousand pieces of cookware, luggage, first aid kits, utensil sets, tote bags, and coffee makers to various local nonprofit organizations.
We can only say kudos to Mount Airy Casino Resort, you are truly making a difference and showing how easy it can be to help those in need as long as you have a genuine desire. Keep up the excellent work.
