Kindred Group has released a comprehensive report that refers specifically to the responsible gambling metrics in the gaming market in Sweden for the second part of 2024.
The metrics refer to the period of 2024, or between July and December 2024, and are published every six months by legal, i.e. licensed operators operating in Sweden with the purpose of detailing the percentage of players who have been contacted due to problem gambling.
In addition to contacting, this bi-annual report also reveals the exact number of users who have reduced their gambling activity, the effect of gambling on proactive contacts, as well as the exact number of customers who have been contacted and have self-excluded in more than six months and less than six months.
Just a few days ago, ATG, Svenska Spel and Kindred Group entered a partnership where the three leading operators have agreed to collaborate in order to release comprehensive data related to Swedish players who display problem gambling.
According to the report, during the second half of 2024 and based on the amount of deposits, 74.2% of Swedish gamblers who were contacted reported that they reduced their overall gambling activity as a result of proactive contracts.
This number is slightly down when compared to the first half of 2023 where the users who reduced their gambling due to proactive contracts amounted to 76.9%.
Despite the decline in this segment, there is still an increase in the percentage of contacted customers who opted to self-exclude from Kindred’s website, amounting to 2.2% in six months or more and 2.4% in six months or less.
The report by Kindred Group comes right after the Spelinspektionen, the Swedish Gambling Authority, released the results of the Public Opinion Survey that looks into the gambling habits of Swedish players, showing that 71% of Swedes had gambled for money in 2024.
