Internet Vikings has confirmed that its suite of data hosting and infrastructure solutions will be fully operational in Alberta, Canada, ahead of the province’s regulated online gaming debut this summer.
Starting July 13, the provider will offer VMware cloud hosting, bare metal servers, and high-performance bare metal GPU servers to local and international operators.
Meeting Stringent Security Mandates
The Alberta Gaming, Liquor & Cannabis (AGLC) recently detailed the specific hosting and security requirements for the new market. Internet Vikings’ existing products were built to align with these high standards, which include mandatory adherence to SOC 2 and ISO 27001 security benchmarks. Furthermore, operators must maintain robust disaster recovery environments, utilize encrypted backups, and conduct regular recovery testing.
Building on its successful operations in Ontario since 2022, Internet Vikings is utilizing its regional experience to streamline the onboarding process for Alberta. Last month, the company further enhanced its technical stack by unveiling integrated NVIDIA graphics processing unit (GPU) technology to support data-intensive iGaming applications.
Local Expertise and Rapid Deployment
Rickard Vikström, CEO of Internet Vikings, emphasized the company’s readiness to support the market’s technical demands:
“We are ready to provide the infrastructure and local expertise operators need to launch and scale successfully. We are already working with operators preparing for launch and understand the urgency involved in getting compliant infrastructure deployed quickly.”
By providing local data center proximity and specialized disaster recovery solutions, Internet Vikings aims to reduce the “time-to-market” friction for licensed betting and gaming brands looking to establish a presence in Western Canada.
