Three decades of expansion and market leadership
Innovative Technology celebrated the 30th anniversary of its Spanish regional office, which first opened in Barcelona in 1996 to expand the company’s European footprint. Reflecting on the milestone, retiring Sales Director Mustapha Hadj-Ahmed noted that the Spanish branch achieved early market dominance in cash handling products for gaming customers, a leading position it has maintained over the past three decades. A key driver of this success has been the NV22 Spectral, a compact mixed-denomination note recycler that became the preferred choice for the majority of Spanish operators and original equipment manufacturers.
Today, ITL Spain supplies advanced cash handling devices to both the gaming and retail sectors while introducing biometric technology to combat underage sales. Regional operations are further supported by local Approved Service Centres responsible for maintenance, servicing, and device repairs. Chairman David Bellis MBE congratulated the team on reaching the significant corporate milestone and praised Hadj-Ahmed for his instrumental role in expanding the company’s international reach across Europe and South America.
Executive reflections and leadership transition
Reflecting on his departure, Mustapha Hadj-Ahmed stated:
“Thirty years ago, we opened the Spanish office. Seeing how far it has come, and celebrating that together with colleagues from Spain, Germany and the UK recently was very special. It has been a great privilege to lead the Spanish arm of ITL and building a great team to support our customers.”
Hadj-Ahmed added:
“As I prepare for retirement, I want to thank the whole team, past and present, for their hard work and commitment, and our UK colleagues for their support over the years. I am proud of what we have built together and confident that the Spanish office is in very good hands.”
Concluding the tributes, ITL Chairman David Bellis MBE stated:
“I would like to congratulate everyone at the Spanish office for their contributions over the years. Reaching 30 years is a milestone this regional office can be proud of. I want to give special mention to Mustapha for the outstanding commitment and service he has given to the organisation. As well as managing a thriving Spanish office for three decades, he has played a key part in our overall international growth especially across Europe and South America. Everyone at ITL wishes Mustapha a happy retirement.”
