The leading online sports betting platform FanDuel has introduced a new responsible gambling feature called Real-Time Check-In, specifically designed to help users make more informed and mindful decisions about their deposits.

This tool motivates players to review their deposit activity whenever they overindulge, consequently, encouraging them to think about whether the amount is in line with their personal budget.

Moreover, the new check-in tool also allows users to set and adjust deposit limits directly within the platform, consequently giving them greater insight into exactly how much they spend.

The Real-Time Check-In initiative further highlights FanDuel’s commitment to responsible gambling and player safety practices, after the company launched a similar tool in 2024.

Namely, Real-Time Check-In is integrated with FanDuel’s My Spend tool, which is another responsible gambling tool launched last year for the purpose of giving players more control over their gambling activity.

According to Flutter Entertainment, FanDuel’s parent company, this concept was inspired by its Australia-based brand, Sportsbet, and its Real Time Intervention (RTI) system.

Launched in 2022, the RTI system is currently active for 90% of customers at Sportsbet and has played a key role in boosting player protection and increasing transparency.

Cory Fox, FanDuel’s Senior Vice President of Public Policy and Sustainability, commented:

Last year, we saw how providing personalized insights into a customer’s activity through My Spend can help them to better manage their play. Now we’re able to use machine learning to provide a new level of support through Real-Time Check-In, encouraging customers to reflect on how much money they’re depositing and if it’s within their budget.

Fox introduced the new safety feature during the Player Protection Symposium panel called RG Tech: Potential Game Changers at the last edition SBC Summit Americas in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

This move further reinforces the growing trend in iGaming where many major operators take extra measures to improve their responsible gambling policies by introducing new tools and encouraging proactive engagement.
